Great value for ceremonial matcha!
WHAT I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MATCHA FOR: just for drinking with water! The matcha is sooo good on its own or in a latte with no sugar or other flavorings Wish I could attach pictures, but the color of the matcha powder is accurate to the pictures on this page. The shade of green of the resulting tea is also a very nice bright green Upon opening the tea, you'll be met with a soothing, earthy tea fragnance. When mixing with hot water, the fragrance is even more pronounced, and it smells amazing. With a sifter, egg whisk, and a tall cup, I was able to get a homogenous liquid with no grittiness and a very nice foam by stirring together the matcha and water first before then taking the whisk to foam it up. Your experience may differ depending on the type of materials you have available to you. The pure matcha + hot water is very good and produces a tea that is super smooth, has no bitterness, and slight sweetness. The matcha flavor is on the lighter side though, so if you're used to stronger teas like I am, you may find the flavor too light. I tried the matcha in a latte with no sugar and found it "creamy", but I personally found the matcha taste not strong enough once you add milk to the recommended 1/2 teaspoon + 2 oz water. Currently in search of the perfect cost-effective and flavorful ratio for lattes. I personally would not recommend using this matcha for baking and cooking due to how subtle the flavor is and because ceremonial matcha is too expensive for that use. Since I'm a Texas resident, shipping was free—which I really appreciated—and cemented my decision to try this matcha! My matcha also arrived super quickly. If I need ceremonial grade matcha, I can definitely see myself ordering again from this business in the future.
New Go-To Matcha
Absolutely LOVED this matcha. It's fragrant, not too bitter, and blooms well (which was my issue with other matchas)! I've been having a cup every other day. It's delicious and it's also giving me enough energy, which is important as someone who doesn't drink coffee. I found this alternative as I couldn't find a great local matcha and wanted to put my dollars into a more local shop. Thanks to MIFL for sourcing such great matcha (Okay Osaka!) and sharing it with us here!
Fantastic!
If you are a matcha snob like me you will not be disappointed. This came in the cutest packaging, arrived safely and FAST. It is a great size too, as I prepare matcha everyday! At such a great price point give this matcha a shot! We are fans in Albuquerque.
So great!!
I'm picky with my matcha, and I love this matcha powder! You can tell it's very high quality & it makes me feel great. It came packaged beautifully as well. Will definitely order more!
